Job Description
  • Record financial transactions in the accounting system (MIP)
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and best practices.
  • Strengthening custody systems for cash, bills, documents, supplies, and inventories.
  • Establishing a comprehensive costing system for budgeting, financial reporting, and donor reporting.
  • Submitting accurate and complete monthly financial reports and justifications to HQ Finance.
  • Maintaining correct trial balance with supporting schedules.
  • Reviewing and approving donor reports in line with company guidelines.
  • Monitoring cash flow and advising on liquidity and financial regulations.
  • Enforcing budgetary and fiscal control policies and initiating corrective actions.
  • Managing relationships with banks, tax authorities, and financial institutions.
  • Completing and sharing annual financial reports with Ghana regulatory bodies.
  • Ensuring compliance and timely reporting of restricted grant financials.
  • Conduct regular asset audits to ensure proper tracking and management.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial resources.
  • Prepare and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
  • Leading the office’s budget process and collaborating with program and operations colleagues to prepare, compile, and consolidate annual budgets.
  • Ensuring that financial books are always prepared for auditing by maintaining comprehensive and accessible financial documentation
  • Managing and coordinating audits for partner organizations to ensure compliance and accuracy
  • Collaborating with the Ghana Program Director and New York Finance team to prepare and implement corrective actions based on audit findings.
