Job Description
- Record financial transactions in the accounting system (MIP)
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and best practices.
- Strengthening custody systems for cash, bills, documents, supplies, and inventories.
- Establishing a comprehensive costing system for budgeting, financial reporting, and donor reporting.
- Submitting accurate and complete monthly financial reports and justifications to HQ Finance.
- Maintaining correct trial balance with supporting schedules.
- Reviewing and approving donor reports in line with company guidelines.
- Monitoring cash flow and advising on liquidity and financial regulations.
- Enforcing budgetary and fiscal control policies and initiating corrective actions.
- Managing relationships with banks, tax authorities, and financial institutions.
- Completing and sharing annual financial reports with Ghana regulatory bodies.
- Ensuring compliance and timely reporting of restricted grant financials.
- Conduct regular asset audits to ensure proper tracking and management.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial resources.
- Prepare and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
- Leading the office’s budget process and collaborating with program and operations colleagues to prepare, compile, and consolidate annual budgets.
- Ensuring that financial books are always prepared for auditing by maintaining comprehensive and accessible financial documentation
- Managing and coordinating audits for partner organizations to ensure compliance and accuracy
- Collaborating with the Ghana Program Director and New York Finance team to prepare and implement corrective actions based on audit findings.
