Job Description

The role responsibilities include but are not limited to, the tasks listed below, as well as any other duties relevant to the position.


a. Strategy and Governance
1. Develop and align the company's strategy with market trends, competition, and internal strengths.
2. Oversee the execution of strategic initiatives to drive growth, profitability, and market position.
3. Ensure the business strategy evolves to meet industry changes and business objectives.


b. Business Development
1. Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities, strategic partnerships, and alliances in both local (Ghana) and international markets to drive sustainable revenue growth and expand the company's market presence
2. Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients and stakeholders to support business success, improve the company's reputation, and create opportunities aligned with company goals


c. Reinsurance programs
1. Lead the design and execution of reinsurance programs that provide clients with optimal, comprehensive coverage solutions tailored to their unique risk profiles.
2. Continuously evaluate and improve reinsurance solutions to meet changing client needs and market trends, keeping offerings competitive and relevant.

d. Compliance and Risk Management
1. Assess the company's risk exposure and develop programs to mitigate potential losses and business interruptions.


e. Company Performance Management
1. Drive the implementation of effective corporate governance practices, ensure regulatory compliance, and guide team members to uphold company policies and perform their roles effectively.


f. Claims and Client Service
1. Ensure the delivery of exceptional client services, prioritizing customer satisfaction, retention, and loyalty, with a strong emphasis on effective claims management


g. Operations
1. Drive financial performance, profitability, and operational efficiency by managing costs effectively, and overseeing IT initiatives, company assets' use, maintenance, and security.


h. People and culture
1. Establish and monitor performance KPls, manage discipline, and oversee performance appraisals to ensure a high-performing, compliant workforce.
2. Cultivate a positive and inclusive organizational culture that values diversity, teamwork, and employee well-being


i. Reporting
1. Lead the preparation and delivery of comprehensive, data-driven reports to the Board of Directors, and other key stakeholders.

 

Education & Qualification

1. A master's degree, preferably an MBA in Business Administration, Insurance, or a related field
2. Full professional qualification such as ACII, CIl (UK).
3. At least 10 years of relevant experience in similar leadership roles.

2. Strong ability to identify and evaluate growth opportunities, establishing valuable strategic partnerships.
3. Proficient in managing operational costs effectively to optimize financial performance.
4. In-depth knowledge of regulatory compliance, ensuring adherence to all legal and industry requirements.
5. Skilled in assessing business risks and implementing risk management programs to minimize potential losses
