Job Description

Accountabilities and Key Responsibilities

Problem Solving

  • Liaise with problem resolution groups (Level 2 and 3) to reduce incident impact and prevent recurrence.
  • Oversee formal closure of problem records after completion of root cause analysis (RCA).
  • Facilitate, document, and follow up on all activities related to problem investigation and review.
  • Analyze historical data to identify and eliminate potential incidents before they occur.
  • Develop workarounds and solutions to mitigate incidents.
  • Ensure resolution of critical events reported to the Service Desk.

Driving Business Strategy

  • Align IT strategies with corporate objectives to maximize value, drive innovation, and mitigate risks.
  • Develop technology roadmaps that support business growth and digital transformation.
  • Oversee enterprise architecture to optimize IT investments and solutions.
  • Identify fintech opportunities to enhance digital banking and financial service delivery.

Leveraging Technology Across Business Units

  • Implement workflow automation and digital enhancements to improve turnaround times.
  • Utilize innovative technologies and effective planning to generate revenue and reduce costs.
  • Oversee the integration of fintech solutions with core banking and digital payment systems.

Identifying, Exploring, and Integrating Technologies

  • Ensure IT systems are optimized and enhance or leverage existing infrastructure for efficiency.
  • Maintain policies and governance frameworks that support system enhancements and regulatory compliance.
  • Partner with fintech providers and technology firms to implement cutting-edge financial solutions.

IT Operations and Disaster Recovery

  • Oversee the management and continuous improvement of IT operations, ensuring high availability and performance of systems.
  • Implement best practices for IT service management, incident response, and system monitoring.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive disaster recovery plan and business continuity strategy.
  • Ensure the resilience of critical IT infrastructure, applications, and data centers against potential risks and disasters.
  • Conduct regular disaster recovery testing and update contingency plans based on lessons learned.

Business Impact

  • Make key decisions affecting the department and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Establish technology strategies that support long-term business sustainability and growth.

Internal & External Relationships

  • Internal: Collaborate with all business units to align technology with business needs.
  • External: Manage relationships with IT service providers, fintech firms, and regulatory bodies.

Qualification & Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Certification in IT Service Management (e.g., ITIL), cybersecurity, cloud computing, or project management.
  • 7+ years of hands-on post-qualification experience in IT leadership roles within financial services.
  • Experience in fintech, digital banking, or payment systems is an added advantage.
