Job Description
Technical Requirements
Managing Accounting Records:
Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded in the in-house accounting software.
Maintain organized and accurate accounting records.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements and borrowing covenants.
Collaborate with colleagues where dependencies exist to maintain compliance.
Prevent breaches of regulatory standards and covenants.
Financial Statements:
- Oversee the timely publication of audited financial statements.
- Collaborate with external auditors to complete audits without adverse findings.
Reporting:
Maintain, enhance, and develop reports to meet stakeholders' needs.
Provide timely and accurate reporting to both internal and external stakeholders.
Deliver analysis and interpretation to support evaluations of organizational performance.
Present organizational data through dashboards, graphs, charts, and reports.
Accounting Operations:
Ensure the efficient operation of the finance function to meet month-end reporting deadlines.
Design and implement internal training programs to keep the team updated on applicable accounting standards.
Departmental Relations:
Collaborate with compliance, audit, and risk teams to ensure adherence to regulatory and legal provisions related to deposits.
Partner with marketing and customer service teams to create effective marketing and communication materials for deposit products and activities.
Work closely with the Head of Retail Banking to align on liability programs and strategic initiatives.
External Relations:
Liaise with external stakeholders, including banks, vendors, and regulatory bodies, to support financial operations and compliance.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
Professional certification (ICA, CIMA, or ACCA)
Strong financial knowledge, reporting, and analytical skills
Proven leadership capabilities
Effective team-building and strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Demonstrated ability to champion and support team initiatives
Strong collaboration skills and readiness to take on challenging assignments
