Technical Requirements

1. Strong understanding of engineering risk principles.
2. In-depth technical insurance knowledge in commercial and industrial risks.
3. Ability to review and interpret policy wordings, endorsements, exclusions, and reinsurance structures.
4. Experience negotiating with local and international insurers and reinsurers.
5. Technical oversight capability in claims management, renewals, and loss control.
6. Knowledge of oil & gas, mining, energy, agribusiness, and extractive industry risk exposures.
7. Strong portfolio management and revenue ownership capability.
8. Understanding of regulatory compliance and governance standards within the insurance sector.

Experience and Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
2. Strong sector experience in natural resources or heavy industrial risk environments.
3. Minimum of 7+ years’ experience in insurance broking, underwriting, or risk advisory.
4. Proven exposure to natural resources or energy clients.
5. Professional insurance qualification such as ACII, ACIIG, or CII is highly desirable.
6. Demonstrated experience in leading client engagements involving complex insurance programmes.
