Job Description
Duties and responsibilities:
- Liaise with existing clients to demonstrate new product developments and ensure effective service delivery
- Identify and establish new business opportunities, including networking at industry events
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations that explain products or services to potential customers
- Prepare and deliver client quotations and administer client accounts
- Analyze costs and sales to provide accurate reports and forecast future sales targets
- Work with the engineering team to ensure development schedules and deliveries are being met
- Provide technical and product training to clients, and provide feedback to team members
- Assist in the design of custom-made products to meet client needs
- Stay informed about market trends and competitive offerings to ensure product competitiveness
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
Qualifications
- Min. 5 years Proven experience as a Sales Engineer or a similar role in the Electrical Industry.
- Min. HND/BSc degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to build strong relationships with clients
- Extensive knowledge of electrical products and solutions
- Strong negotiation and sales skills
- Understanding of industry trends, competitive landscape, and market changes to position products effectively and drive sales.
Skills Required
- Technical proficiency in electrical engineering concepts, principles, and practices to effectively communicate product value and benefits to customers.
- Strong sales skills to identify potential clients, understand their requirements and showcase suitable products or services.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to foster relationships with clients, build long-term partnerships, and negotiate effectively on contracts and prices.
- Ability to translate complex technical information into understandable terms to clients of varying levels of technical understanding.
- Problem-solving skills to identify client needs and offer appropriate engineering solutions or product recommendations.
- Attention to detail and organization skills to manage a wide variety of tasks, from technical specifications to sales reports.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues, managers, and clients, and provide clear, persuasive product presentations and demonstrations.
