Job Description

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Liaise with existing clients to demonstrate new product developments and ensure effective service delivery
  • Identify and establish new business opportunities, including networking at industry events
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations that explain products or services to potential customers
  • Prepare and deliver client quotations and administer client accounts
  • Analyze costs and sales to provide accurate reports and forecast future sales targets
  • Work with the engineering team to ensure development schedules and deliveries are being met
  • Provide technical and product training to clients, and provide feedback to team members
  • Assist in the design of custom-made products to meet client needs
  • Stay informed about market trends and competitive offerings to ensure product competitiveness
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies

Qualifications

  • Min. 5 years Proven experience as a Sales Engineer or a similar role in the Electrical Industry.
  • Min. HND/BSc degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with clients
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical products and solutions
  • Strong negotiation and sales skills 
  • Understanding of industry trends, competitive landscape, and market changes to position products effectively and drive sales.

 

Skills Required

  • Technical proficiency in electrical engineering concepts, principles, and practices to effectively communicate product value and benefits to customers.
  • Strong sales skills to identify potential clients, understand their requirements and showcase suitable products or services.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to foster relationships with clients, build long-term partnerships, and negotiate effectively on contracts and prices.
  • Ability to translate complex technical information into understandable terms to clients of varying levels of technical understanding.
  • Problem-solving skills to identify client needs and offer appropriate engineering solutions or product recommendations.
  • Attention to detail and organization skills to manage a wide variety of tasks, from technical specifications to sales reports.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues, managers, and clients, and provide clear, persuasive product presentations and demonstrations.
