Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems and automated equipment across the production line.
- Optimize and program PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and SCADA systems relevant to plastic manufacturing processes.
- Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance of electrical equipment including extruders, injection molding machines, blow molding lines, and associated auxiliaries.
- Lead and mentor junior technicians and electricians, ensuring best practices are followed.
- Collaborate with mechanical and production teams for seamless integration of new equipment and process improvements.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation on electrical layouts, wiring diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, ISO regulations, and relevant environmental and industrial codes.
- Manage electrical contractors and liaise with vendors during projects or equipment upgrades. - Evaluate energy usage and implement power-saving initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in an electrical engineering role within the plastic manufacturing industry.
- Proven expertise in industrial automation, control systems, and power systems design.
- Strong understanding of electrical codes, HSE regulations, and lean manufacturing principles.
- Ability to manage complex projects under minimal supervision.
- Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
Desirable Certifications:
- Certified Electrical Engineer (CEng or equivalent)
- PLC Programming Certification (e.g., Siemens, Allen Bradley)
- OSHA or Electrical Safety Compliance Certification
